History

Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care began in 1980 when a group of committed individuals, including two who were active with National Hospice Organization, came together to form Minnesota Hospice Organization (MHO). The first meeting of the MHO Board of Directors was October 2, 1980. The first Minnesota Hospice Organizational Meeting was October 1, 1982. The organization was formed to provide resources and support for healthcare professionals providing hospice care.

In 2011 Minnesota Hospice Organization changed its name to Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care to expand its reach to palliative care providers, partner organizations, and individuals.

Today we are an organization of providers, allied organizations, and individuals with the same goal--promoting quality of life in Minnesota through access to and support of hospice and palliative care.
