We strive to ensure that everyone has the help they need to live and die according to their wishes. We do this through education and advocacy around serious illness and end-of-life care.

Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care is an organization made up of health care providers, individuals, and allied organizations all committed to advancing access to, knowledge about, and quality of hospice and palliative care in Minnesota.

We are a resource for individuals and families who are coping with a serious illness or are facing the end of life. We provide information to the public about hospice and palliative care and help connect individuals and their loved ones with the are they need.

We are also a member organization for health care organizations and individuals in the hospice and palliative care community. We provide opportunities for education, including webinars, our annual Wald Lectureship, workshops, and more.

We collaborate with regional organizations and national leaders to provide a state-wide perspective on advance care planning, palliative care, and hospice care. And we advocate for greater awareness about and access to hospice and palliative care.

Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care began in 1980 when a group of committed individuals, including two who were active with National Hospice Organization, came together to form Minnesota Hospice Organization (MHO)The first meeting of the MHO Board of Directors was October 2, 1980. The first Minnesota Hospice Organizational Meeting was October 1, 1982. The organization was formed to provide resources and support for healthcare professionals providing hospice care.

In 2011 Minnesota Hospice Organization changed its name to Minnesota Network of Hospice & Palliative Care to expand its reach to palliative care providers, partner organizations, and individuals.

Today we are an organization of providers, allied organizations, business partners and individuals with the same goal--promoting quality of life in Minnesota through access to and support of hospice and palliative care.
