Deb Edstrom

Deb is an exceptional hospice volunteer whose service is defined by curiosity, grounded presence, and thoughtful advocacy. With 3+ years as a volunteer and over 300 hours of service, she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting patients and family with compassion, professionalism and care. In one particular case, Deb supported a patient whose spouse was experiencing profound grief and distress. While navigating a challenging family situation with varying needs and concerns, she remained grounded, professional, and compassionate. She provided calm reassurance, helping the spouse understand that the patients' needs were being met, and served as a steady presence during a vulnerable time. Deb is deeply patient-focused and highly observant. Through her regular visits, she pays close attention to comfort, communication, and quality of life. When she notices opportunities to improve a patient’s experience, she communicates collaboratively with the care team, always keeping the patient’s well-being at the center.
